Xintao Liu
Bio
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Land Surveying and Geospatial
Science at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).
I received my PhD degree in Geo-Informatics from the Royal Institute of
Technology KTH, Sweden in 2012.
Prior to joining PolyU in 2016, I worked as a postdoc fellow and sessional
lecturer at the GeoCollaboration
and GIS Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University, Toronto, Canada.
Research interests
My research interests are centered around GIScience, transportation geography, and complex networks. My objective is to leverage state-of-the-art technologies to advance smart cities for a better urban life. I am particularly interested in integrating machine learning into modeling human behavior and analyzing human-environment interaction in cyber and physical spaces.
